Description
The Lodge setting: Taupo Garden Lodge is a small, elegant, fishing Inn, beside the mountain-fed Waikato River, only 2k from town, surrounded by a beautiful three-acre garden. The accommodation is private, generous and has very comfortable beds, with Persian rugs and oil paintings in a restorative atmosphere. The hosts, William and Suzanne Hindmarsh planted this garden over a period of the 41 year ownership of their property Awahuri (where the river bends). Some of the trees are more than 60 feet high now, with masses of birds, Rhododendrons, Camellias and perennials in stunning profusion around ponds and a waterfall - all creating a tranquility which literally everybody mentions, friends and visitors.
